2026, week 23, 10 singles (2)

With the weather switched to position erratic, sun, wind, rain, lots of rain, cloudy, back to sun, etc., it is easy to make amends and do two rounds of singles this week. You'll find no huge names this week but certainly some WoNoBlog favourites of the past few years and several new names. Musically, it is a nice mix as well, like open your ears widely to truly listen to softer songs, as cover your ears fast should you be partial to not liking postpunk. Either way it's here, and all in between, enjoy!

Alone EP. Carly Hann

Today, Carly Hann makes her debut on this blog with her EP Alone. She is a totally new name to me, so I looked a little beyond just listening to her beautiful dreampop songs. She was formerly known as Carly Holt until she married The 1975's guitarist Adam Hann, who also produced her debut EP. She hails from Canada. She musically first drew attention with her cover version of said band's 'About You' and now presents her own music. That music starts with an acoustic guitar. The songs on Alone can be played on the beach, in a living room or the front garden entertaining neighbours during the next pandemic. Around her soft, dreamy and relaxed voice and the guitar, other instruments join, creating a dreamy atmosphere. In the case of opening and title track 'Alone' that mood is slowly but surely expanded on and when in the bridge drums join the song, it turns into a wall of sound. Lana del Rey is not far off, but Carly Hann does keep it as her own song. 'Breathe' starts as someone trying to play piano but not really certain (s)he's capable of doing so, before it turns into a song anyway, shedding that uncertainty immediately. 'Can't Shake This Feeling' is built around the acoustic guitar once again. This time strings come in for accompaniment. 'She Got' is the game changer. An electric guitar plays fast notes and the drums play an erratic, somewhat unusual rhythm. Carly Hann remains herself and draws the song into a dreamy state anyway. Also pay attention to that violin that plays a distinctive role in the song, making it far beyond the average dreampop song. Carly Hann may have started her career piggybacking her husband's career, she's very much her own talent on Alone.

De lytse oarloch fan Japie Ossefet. Zea

In totaal 11 in 11 verschillende tehuizen. Doen!

Plovdiv. Tramhaus

Tramhaus in 2026 is a band that has been around half the world, that is able to premiere its new single on a Seattle radio station and receives reviews from internationally renowned websites. So, what can I add to all this? To start a personal note. In 2025 I visited Plovdiv on a 43 degrees Celsius day and, reading the title, wondered how it is possible that Tramhaus first single release from its upcoming new album, Blister' (9 October), is called after the city. The band wrote the song there on a free day, touring Bulgaria and Turkey, in a rehearsal room. I hope they did get a peak at the Roman antiquities in Plovdiv. The song Plovdiv presents a louder and more direct Tramhaus. Through live shows, I was able to see the way the band gelled more and more through the years and Plovdiv is the result. There is less room for subtleties and more for a full band experience. The first verse is the group's community singing, recorded like a church choir in a church with the worst kind of acoustics, before singer Lucas Jansen takes over and explodes in the chorus together with the band. Getting better acquainted with Plovdiv, I notice better that the, lets call it the Nirvana, approach to a song, is still in tact. The erratic subtlety that characterised early Tramhaus songs, has been traded in for blasting. Live it will lead to even more enthusiasm is my guess. After a hesitant start, I'm sold.

Honeydripper. Ruby James

Ruby James returns to the blog with a dirty track that is somewhere between, what exactly? Certainly rock. The dirty guitar soloing gives the song its dirty vibe. There is something dancy in there as well, e.g. in the way of singing and rhythm. Except the song goes off of its rocker as in totally when it approaches the end. That guitar is really going for it. It is all very gritty in a blues kind of way. On top of it all, it's pure sex that is dripping from this record and it is intended that way so I understand. Ruby James wrote Honeydripper with songwriter Kate Vargas. Together they came up with this groove and built the song from there. It's convincing alright. Be on the look out for the album, 'Call It Rock & Roll', from 7 August onwards.

Punch Drunk Love. Personal Trainer

Punch Drunk Love is Personal Trainer as you've never heard it before. More than ever before the band sounds like a band that could be any regular band and it has dropped everything to do with loud electric guitars. In fact, Punch Drunk Love could have been, with a little imagination, a hit for The Kinks in the mid-60s. The band took an acoustic album and playing live in the studio together, as the starting points and that is what the single sounds like. A piano is the leading instrument for most of the song, playing its slow notes. You'll find a violin playing short solos with the guitars only playing accompanying riffs and soft chords. Over it all Willem Smit is singing softly. There's no need to shout at all. I fell in love slowly with album number 1, but in the end never truly found may way around number 2. Number 3, 'Human Assholes' is slated for 4 September. I'm sure we'll hear more in the meantime.

Magic In The Air, feat. Palmyra Delran. Dan Miraldi

"Sometimes you really have to wrestle with songs, but ‘Magic in the Air’ felt pretty effortless", says Dan Miraldi in the accompanying bio to his latest single on the writing process. This is exactly how the song sounds like. Magic In The Air combines pop, rock and a little punk attitude into a song that sounds somehow perfect. That relatively slow riff/solo guitar leading the listener into the song, followed by a mellow mood coming with a glorious, not too warm feel of a summer day. Miraldi manages to get this mood across without giving up on the firm body of the song. Palmyra Delran adds a nice female touch to the whole in both lead and harmony vocals. On top of it all comes this dreamy bridge, making a perfect song even better. Welcome to the blog!

Letting Go. Deardarkhead

An instrumental track somehow is the hardest to write about for me. Not that I analyse lyrics a lot, it is the layer of how vocal melodies interact with the music, where I often focus my attention on. Deardarkhead is a band from New Jersey, formed in 1988, that in 1998 released its only full length album to date, 'Unlock the Valves of Feeling'. Since several EPs saw the light of day, the last one being from 2016. Since its singer left, the band has become an instrumental outfit and listening to Letting Go focusing on extremely melodic instrumental tracks. Guitarist Kevin Harrington leads the pack with a very clear sound, while never overdoing the number of notes he can squeeze in. This is about melody and not about chops and prowess. He is supported by drummer Robert Weiss and bassist James Malizia, The mortar in between is played by guest keyboardist Joe McGinty (The Psychedelic Furs, Nada Surf, Ryan Adams and Deborah Harry), who adds just the right texture. It is this combination of musical facts that make me like Letting go. There will be a full length album, Deardarkhead's second, on 10 July called 'The Pendulum Swings'.

Still Here. High on Stress

In March you may have found High on Stress on this blog for the first time. In my few words on single Over/Through I compared the band to the likes of Gin Blossoms and The Jayhawks. Today, I will go a step further and compare it to a band that I liked a lot more around 1995, Slobberbone. High on Stress has that same level of intensity and just being who and what you are as musician and band. Of course, everything is well thought out and there is a lot of attention being paid to details, that make the song more interesting to listen to. "It goes on and on, on and on, and I'm still here", they sing. Unmistakably true, as Still Here sounds very much alive. This song rocks in a way only, for lack of a better word ,rootsrockers from the U.S. can. Album 'Still Here' is out there for a month already, I notice just now. It's time to take a listen. This title song hits all the right buttons.

Hard Evidence. Ringlets

Ringlets is on tour in Europe and celebrates with the release of this stand alone single. Hard Evidence is not an easy song to digest. Everything is just a little less normal than what is expected from a song. The vocal melody is monotonous in the verses and the accompaniment is stern. The mood is darker. It also is in the chorus, but the mood changes to playful because of the band accompaniment while still being somewhat stern, as the vocals do not join in the playfulness. They remain moody, sang in a deeper and subdued way. The New Zealanders show that their band has a few sides to it. Having listened to Hard Evidence a few times, I notice the song is growing on me. Ringlets reaches the bar it set for itself with the superb album 'The Lord Is My German Shepherd (Time for Walkies)' with ease.

Gonna Be Alright. Chaser

A real 7". It's not exceptional but also far from normal in 2026. (And what bands like The Rolling Stones or Arctic Monkeys charge for one, € 17,99, borders on the absurd.) I don't know what Southern California skatepunkers Chaser charges for theirs. Based on what I'm hearing, things are going to be alright. 'My Promise' is a melodic punk track in the best form as Rancid and The Offspring are capable of. Deep dark and dry drum skins are leading the way for Chaser. This drummer truly leads the way with more rolls, fills and double bass fills than my ears can keep up with. Guitar lines and bass are all all over the place as well, supporting a golden vocal melody. Yes, of course, it all sounds very familiar but who cares when a song is this good. The other side of the 7" is a rendition of Bob Marley & the Wailers' 'Three Little Birds'. As that track was high jacked by 020's fans, I leave it you to find out for yourself. Greetings from 010 supporter,

2025, week 14. 10 singles

Sun, wind, rain, sun, wind, rain, it's a typical Dutch early spring. In a few days it will be warm and sunny. Perhaps next week frost in the night and sleet. Who knows? What I do know is that new singles keep coming in. Here's the selection for week 14, so explore and enjoy!

Gris EP. a.gris

The two singles released in the past few months signalled that a.gris's upcoming EP Gris could well be worth my while. Believe me, it is. As a short reminder, a. gris is Alex Delamard, singer/guitarist of Hoorsees, who has been working on a solo project under the name a.gris. This EP is his first work of art. Before I start, I refer you to the singles posts of 27 December 2025 and 1 February. That leaves me with three songs to review, the number 3 to 5 on the EP. It starts with what was released as a third single, 'Meta Piano', an alternative rock ballad. A distinctive feature is a Chinese/Japanese sounding main riff, that has a kinship to Ryuichi Sakamoto's main tune for the 'Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence' Movie. It gives the song a totally different vibe from the two singles that precede it. 'Munchhaussen' derives his name from the "by proxy". I know Baron von Münchausen from a comic series published most likely in the 1950s or early 60s, at my grandparents'. The song 'Munchaussen' is a heavy tune, with a dark sound that lays over the song. The acoustic guitar opening takes nothing away from the brooding sound of the song. The treatment of the voice adds to it. The female voice behind Delamard brings some relief. Final song 'Gravity Rules' starts somewhat lighter with again that female voice. Not that much later the brooding mood returns, interlaced with intriguing sounds that move in and out of the song. The whole EP has a touch of emo in it but not in a way that stops me from listening. (No, I'm not a fan, exceptions allowed for.) a.gris has produced a strong EP that allows him to explore his solo work further.

Projectors. The Notwist

The Notwist is a German band that is around for longer than I care to remember, but also a band where I never found my way into. On this blog you will only find a review by Erwin Zijleman from 2021. As I tend to give singles I'm alerted to a circa 30 seconds chance to convince me, I did so with Projectors. Without too much expectation. To my surprise I heard a sort of funeral dirge entering my ears. The music is somewhere between folk and country, with an acoustic guitar as the lead instrument. With a female second voice, Enid Valu, giving the music something angelic, the song becomes infinitely more attractive. With the following line from the bio: "the lyrics ... have been written as if Rutger Hauer could have sung them in 'Blade Runner'". Yes, the song is dark enough alright. It's good thing surprises are still possible.

Romany Blue. The Bevis Frond

U.K.'s The Bevis Frond is around since like forever and it's front man, Nick Saloman, even longer. With a steady pulse the band delivers a new album and with it's upcoming album, 'Horrorful Heights' (3 April), things are no different. What may be a little different, is how accessible single Romany Blue is. It is a delightful pop ballad like they used to make them a long time ago. Only with a singer that has aged gracefully. The music, after the intro, is fairly dense mix of bass, drums and two electric guitars, the second somewhat cleaner in sound. They alternately take a few leadnotes and strum the rhythm. The solo is overdubbed and nice, really supportive of the mildly melancholy mood of Romany Blue. All together Romany Blue is a nice listening experience.

Pieces Of Time. The Riflebirds of Portland

If I've read the message right, I'm listening to a track from 1985 from the album 'April' to be re-released this month. The Riflebirds disbanded before they could have taken off, to reunite four decades later as The Riflebirds of Portland with last year's album 'Windmills on the Moon'. I have missed both albums at the time, but judging Pieces Of Time, I have to conclude it is fantastic folk song. Singer Kate Oser (at the time Lieuallen) has a beautiful clear voice. It really resonates on this single. The band, Lee Oser (bass/vocals), Kevin Kraft (guitar), and Kevin Jarvis (drums), provide her with the space to shine in Pieces Of Time. What also strikes me is the clear sound of the recording. Marvin Etzioni can be held responsible for this. You can find him a couple of times in a different capacity on this blog. With Pieces Of Time The Riflebirds (of Portland) ought to claim their route to fame any way. The song works totally in the 2026 context.

Next To you. Dirt Road Souls

With Next To You Dirt Road Souls enter this blog for the second time. Except for the topic of the lyrics, I could repeat the gist of my previous post. Next To You is an alternative rock track with a lot of country rock influences, ergo roots rock. The band I'm reminded of immediately is San Diego's Dirty Sweet, long since disbanded. There are far more famous examples but I suggest you pick your own favourite here. Next To You can be called a rock ballad also as far as I'm concerned. It is a song with the brake on, allowing me to listen to a lot of details. For a trio, Davis Black, Rick Weden and Brian Sargent, Dirt Road Souls has a rich and clear sound. What you hear on record can not be reproduced by three on stage; too many guitars. Singer Davis Black has a voice that seems to belie his age, but sounds fantastic in Next To You. Two singles in, I sure want to hear more and that more is there in the form of the roots rock opera '(The Life and Times of) Johnny Moonshine'.

When It's Over (feat. Hemi Hemingway). Vera Ellen

Vera Ellen can be heard regularly in my home, office and car. In a fairly short time she has become one of my favourite artists from New Zealand. All thanks to the newsletter of recordshop and label Flying Nun from that country. She's even coming over this spring but not for a regular show unfortunately but a festival. With the second single of her upcoming album, 'Heaven Knows What Time' (1 May), Ms. Ellen again shows how good a musician she is, while always maintaining that sort of slacker atmosphere that always is an integral part of her songs. The dark voice of Hemi Hemingway is a beautiful counterpart to her own voice. Ater she once sung a Nancy & Lee song karaoke with him, she just knew she wanted him to sing on When It's Over. A golden choice.

Cute. Asara

In 2024 I was charmed by the Paris band Dog Park's album 'Festina Lente'. I don't know whether Dog Park is no more, but one of the ladies in the band returns on this blog under the name Asara. With Cute she releases a dreamy song that, except for the rather abrupt and unimaginative ending, is really beautiful. Asara's voice reminds me a little of Amber Arcade's Annelotte de Graaf's. They both have that quality to hover of a song, while taking me as listener in to it. This is exactly what Asara does with me. The guitar with a little reverb on it plays a nice riff all through the song, supported by a keyboard. Underneath that is a synth making rather mysterious sounds, like a sampled choir. The introduction to Asara is just about perfect. An, as yet unnamed album, is announced for the fall.

Peaceful Alibi. Other Brother Darryl

Other Brother Darryl returns to the blog with a single announcing an album called 'Hey Yeah Hey' slated for this summer. The eight piece roots band returns with a single that makes me want to take out one of my old Eagles albums. The harmonies in Peaceful Alibi get extremely close to the 1970s band's. The word peaceful may even be sung on the same notes as in one of the Eagles' songs. Enough about memories and comparisons, as Peaceful Alibi is a beautiful song in its own right. Close to a ballad, the song has its own, mid, tempo that allows all the instruments to stand out. Starting with a pedal steel that howls softly into the mountains and a great guitar solo later on. The drums sit straight in the middle supported by the bass. From there a warm organ meanders through the whole and the clear sound of an acoustic guitar can be heard, as can a piano. Over it all lie the vocals, that are the cherry on the cake Other Brother Darryl baked for us to hear. A beautiful track Peaceful Alibi is.

I Wanna Feel Pretty. Greg Mendez

The name Greg Mendez did not ring a bell, but can be found twice on this blog, once by Erwin Zijleman. He returns with a single announcing his upcoming album 'Beauty Land', released on 29 May. The title alone reminded me of Elliot Smith and then I read Erwin's opening lines from 2023 mentioning the music reminding him of same. I can be short here, the music of I Want To Feel Pretty does as well. Mendez sings in a very relaxed voicing, while sparse accompaniment joins and leaves the short song. A few piano notes here and there do the trick. For the rest Greg Mendez plays his acoustic guitar and sings his story, not necessarily a happy one. Enough to make an impression though.

Wandering Star. Haylie Davis

We end this month with another ballad. Again, it has nothing to do with classic rock ballads from the 70s and 80s. Don't expect to hear a 'I Want To Know What Love Is', to name one example. Haylie Davis presents a piano driven song that could be called an alternative version of a Billy Joel song. As far as I know, Haylee Davis is a new name to me. Based on Wandering Star the pleasure of musically meeting is all mine. With a clear voice Ms. Davis presents her single. It is somehow timeless. There's no year I can pin her song on. It is as much of today as it could be from the past. Haylie Davis is from Los Angeles and working towards releasing her debut album, 'Wandering Star' (5 June). Based on this single, the album could be quite interesting to listen to.

2025, five EPs

Listening to ten singles sometimes does not allow me enough time to listen to full EPs and mini albums as well, while they are of a quality that does allow for a spot on this blog. So, instead of a full album, today we present five shorter albums by a very diverse set of artists. So, enjoy!

No Heavy Goodbyes EP. Scarlet Rae

Based on the two singles having been released before the release of No Heavy Goodbyes, my best guess was the EP would be an ink black affair. It is not totally so, as Scarlet Rae does supply us with a ray of light here and there. Allow me to start with the fourth song, 'Light Dose'. It is not an easy song, nor has it an easy rhythm, but the acoustic guitars starting the song and her soft way of singing allow the sun in. The piano "solo" has the same effect. Slowly but surely some darkness creeps in and then the distorted guitars take over the song and black paint is smeared on the walls and windows in thick blobs, shutting all light out, no matter how hard that piano roots for another result. 'Light Dose' does show the world how Scarlet Rae can play with moods extremely successfully. Although I like the EP as a whole this song is the beacon of the EP. The contrast between her soft voice and guitars that can cut like a sword from 'Kill Bill' are so huge. Scarlet Rae has a voice for the sweetest pop songs, where innocence and fantasy for teenage girls would ooze from the record (or stream of course). Pop and teen fantasies are as far removed from her mind as possible, leading to dark and brooding, but above all rocking songs. A song can be moderately loud like opening song 'A World Where She Left Me Out' to a trailblazer like the final song 'Call Off The Day' is. Ms Rae gives this EP her all. Don't forget to check it out.

Till The Well Runs Dry EP.  Nate Perry & Ragged Company

Another debut on this blog. With its second EP Boston outfit Nate Perry & Ragged Company finds itself for the first time here. There's no denying, that this music sounds familiar to anyone with some musical bagage from the past decades. Nate Perry C.S. combine rock and Americana in a way a band like Gin Blossoms was so good at circa thirty years ago or Dan Baird, etc., etc. The surprise is how fresh the songs on Till The Well Runs Dry sound. It's quite clear that it may be a while before this music will. There are bands that play roots music and there are bands that take that music to the same or next level like their heroes played it and then add their own originals to the existing pile. Nate Perry & Ragged Company band did exactly that. With its tough sound, joined by a warm Hammond organ and a singer with exactly the right tough edge to his voice, Till The Well Runs Dry hits the nail on the head. I simply love listening to this EP.

Inauguration EP. Proles

With Inauguration this post moves once again towards the dark side of music. Proles loves to dwell in the dark recesses of 1980s postpunk. Where I found the early Simple Minds and bands like it always far too mechanical sounding, let alone The Gang of Four and is ilk, Proles is not afraid of playing organic sounding music throughout that darkness. Where the opening song, 'Inaugural', on the one hand is meant as the most open sounding song, it also is the most scary, with the screaming background vocals, mixed "softly" into the whole. Later on on this seven song mini album, Proles gets more into its stride and mixes the postpunk with the sound of bands like Killing Joke and The Cult. By now that music is circa forty years old. It keeps attracting many young musicians and musicians who are still inspired by the music and went back to it after life caught up with them somewhere in the past thirty years. The result is a strong EP like Inauguration. The music may be dark but the fun of playing it shines through the whole of the seven songs. Just listen how 'The Slumber' plays out. A little Tubeway Army synths has the lead but with a lead guitar accompanying it in a way Gary Newman would have abhorred. Boston's Proles, Gretchen Shae vocals, synths, Jason O'Blivion vocals, guitar, Daniel Denied bass and Nikki Severen drums, have found their stride together and deserve this debut on WoNoBlog fully, completely.

Moments In The Sun EP. Dotsun Moon

From darkness to light is but a small step on WoNoBlog. After single 'Never Had A Heart', Richard Flierl, he is Dotsun Moon, finds himself once again on this blog with the EP Moments In The Sun. The Buffalo, New York based musician's output on this EP can be placed in the 1980s as well. More in the Simple Minds from 'Don't You (Forget About Me)' onwards period than in the heavy postpunk scene. The music is far smoother, more elegant and certainly more mainstream. Not that this EP contains a song of the magnitude mentioned just now. The four songs each are very much worth your while though. Flierl manages to provide his songs with so many details. Take the way the guitar solo in 'Army Of Me' is offset with the piano notes playing through the solo. This provides a great listening experience. The EP ends with 'Piano Trailer 5', which is the piano piece like it promises. Dotsun Moon's Richard Flierl may love to dwell in the musical past, like so many other artists do. He manages to step into 2025 with songs of his own that matter. Moments In The Sun brings exactly what its title promises: a moment of rest in a busy schedule to warm to and relax with.

like you used to EP. Nathalie Miller

Through her single 'kansas', Nathalie Miller is no stranger to this blog and now her second EP, like you used to, finds itself here as well. The music is certainly identifiable as pop music, but not like what I hear occasionally on the radio my love likes to listen to. The song announced as the current number 1, was as dull as I've seldom heard them. Really nothing memorable happened during the whole song! Rest assured, you will not find anything like it on like you used to. Even the song that comes closest in my ear, 'Witches Don't Burn', has so many twists and turns, that the listener has to be on his/her toes the whole time. Nathalie Miller, living in Brooklyn but from Massachusetts, manages to sound interesting the whole time. Dynamics is a tool she and her producer Brian Charles have used to great effect. Just listen to how 'Sit And Stew' plays out. The way extra instruments come in and are added tells all. Between the five songs themselves there is more than enough diversity that makes listening to like you used to an interesting experience. The end comes as a total surprise. It's like a very old recording has been polished by digital tools and an added modern vocal was mixed in. The title song gives the EP again something extra. Nathalie Miller wants to be far more than just a pop singer. So far, she succeeded in my book.

Am I Okay? Megan Moroney

Take It Like A Man. Amanda Shires

Fretland. Fretland

Vandaag kijken we eens één jaar terug.

The Soft Landing. The Calicos

Direct in de ruim zeven minuten durende openingstrack How Was I To Know? laat The Calicos horen hoe goed het is.

We Wither, We Bloom. The Northern Belle

Waiting On You Tonight. Beth Lee

Why do I like one album by an artist in the Americana segment of music and can be turned off seconds into the first song of another? A myriad of answers can be given, starting with how broad Americana as a genre is. Fact is that it only took a few seconds of listening to Waiting On You Tonight for me to prick up my ears. Music and voice landed into my ears immediately.

Beth Lee for me is a new name. She's a singer from Austin in Texas, releasing her first solo record, produced by Chuck Prophet & The Mission Express' drummer Vincente Rodriguez. His colleague, guitarist James DePrato is present as well. Not surprisingly, the music is a mild form of roots rock. A tight playing rhythm section, a lead guitar allowed to play fired up country licks all over the songs and a warm organ for the softer tones. Not a word more is needed to describe most of the songs, were it not that they sound so nice to me. By creating variations in the tempo, the songs start to appeal individually. Take the difference between the more up tempo 'Yale St & 45' (I keep hearing Meryl Streep and a 45, a real "Mamma Appelsap", if you ask me) and the laidback 'Playin' Along'. The latter has a more country feel due to the steel guitar solo, but to me sounds more like an extremely nice ballad.

With multi-instrumentalist Julie Wolf added to line up, Beth Lee explores decades of American pop, rock, country and blues and incorporates all these genres into her songs on Waiting On You Tonight. The result is that a soft pop song like 'Birthday Song' easily goes back to back with the fast rocker 'Pens And Needles'. Both add to the fun listening to Beth Lee's album is. From the chiming little bells in the former song and the at least three different sounds of the guitar solos in the latter, it goes to show how much fun the musicians had in bringing more to the album than just that which is necessary or functional. Both make the respective songs shine the brighter.

All the different styles being played also attests to the quality of the musicians behind Beth Lee. This hints towards seasoned pros who play what is demanded of them before they go home or drive on to the next session. Because of that there is a danger of becoming to blasé. E.g., a song like 'Four Letter Name' suggests this, also because Beth Lee's voice is not one for fine details and that shows in this song as well, making it average.

Luckily for us listeners there are so many songs on Waiting On You Tonight that belie this impression. Where the fine details make a song sparkle and Beth Lee's voice stand out. 'Understand Me' is another perfect example how the musicians create details that show their inventiveness in the studio. The warm organ, the lap or peddle steel guitar soloing slowly but surely add so much.

All together it is fair to conclude that Waiting On You Tonight is an album that deserves being heard by all who like their music to be somewhere in between pop, country and rock.

Midnight Manor. The Nude Party

Heerlijk.
